Born on January 21, 1944 in the town of Pyatikhatki, Dnepropetrovsk region, Ukrainian SSR, USSR.
Graduated from the acting department of VGIK (1965), directing (1972, workshop of Igor Talankin) .
He made his debut in 1964 as the engineer Gena in the film "There Lives a Guy". The success of the actor Nakhapetov brought the roles of his contemporaries - Timur in the film "Tenderness" (1967) and Motherland in the tape "Lovers" (1969), in which the restraint of the external drawing was combined with deep inner tension.
In 1974 he released his first director's work - "With You and Without You".
Since 1978 - actor and director of the Mosfilm film studio .
In 1988 he left to work in the USA. Organized the Foundation for Aid to Sick Children of Russia.
Since 2003 Rodion Nakhapetov has been living and actively working in Russia. Nakhapetov is the author of the book of memoirs "In Love".
