The real name is George. Born June 2, 1919 in Poltava. Graduated from the Kiev State Institute of Theater Arts named after Karpenko-Kary (1941). During the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Southwestern Front he performed in the mask of the bathhouse attendant Mochalkin, after the war - under the pseudonym of policeman Tarapunka. On the stage he became famous in a duet with Efim Berezin (Tarapunka and Shtepsel). Gruvemuvestart People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1960) .
He passed away on December 1, 1986 in Uzhgorod. He was buried in Kiev at the Baikovo cemetery.
