Igor Kvasha was born in Moscow in 1933. The boy became interested in theater from an early age. He first appeared on the stage when he was a pupil of a kindergarten - Igor played the main role in the production of Morozko. From the seventh grade, he began to attend a theater studio. After graduating from school, he entered the Moscow Art Theater. After receiving higher education, Kvasha worked for two years at the Moscow Art Theater, then, in 1957, joined the troupe of the Sovremennik Theater. On its stage, he performed for almost half a century, having taken part in dozens of productions.

In the early 1990s, he was on the jury of the KVN Major League. In 2007, Kvasha's autobiography "Point of Return" was published.
In 1968, Igor Vladimirovich received the Honored Artist award, 10 years later he was awarded the title of People's Artist. Kvasha was married twice. From his second marriage with Tatyana Putievskaya, his son Vladimir was born.
The actor died in August 2012 and was buried in the capital's Troekurovsky cemetery.
