Was born on January 3, 1958 in Leningrad.
As a child, he dreamed of diving to the bottom of the ocean, like Jacques-Yves Cousteau. At school he studied in a drama circle. From the first time I did not enter a theater university, so I went to study at the technical school of marine instrumentation. The next year, he entered the acting department of LGITMiK. After graduation, he worked for six years at the Vremya theater-studio.
The first serious work of Alexander Polovtsev in cinema was in the film by Sergei Ovcharov "It". Alexander Polovtsev owes his popularity to the role of Major Solovets in the TV series "Cops", the first episodes of which were filmed by director Alexander Rogozhkin.
