October 10, 1924, Poughkeepsie, New York - December 10, 1978, Los Angeles - American screenwriter, director, producer, actor, writer and film editor. He was named "Worst Director of All Time" by two film critics - Michael and Harry Medved - in his book "The Golden Turkey Awards" in 1980 (that is, two years after Wood's death). He is also known in the cinema as Daniel Davis. Wood's films starred his favorite actor Bela Lugosi, who was also his friend. He was married twice, he has a child from his first wife, Norma McCarthy. Ed Wood often shot 20-30 scenes a day, in most cases from the first take.
