With the arrival of the chief director Yuri Yeromin to the Army Theater, Valery Barinov's work took a slightly different direction - the huge range of his repertoire attracted the attention of critics and viewers to the artist.
In 1988, Barinov, together with Eremin, left the Army Theater and moved to the Pushkin Theater in Moscow, where he worked until 1991.
In 1992 he joined the troupe of the Maly Theater.
