Jean-Claude Carrier - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
Born on September 19, 1931 in Colombier-sur-Orb, Herault, Lanqueedoc-Rossillon, France into a family of winemakers.
He studied at the Lyceum Lakanal. Studied literature and history at the Saint-Claude Institute. In 1957 he published his first novel "The Lizard". Collaborated as a screenwriter with the famous French comedians Jacques Tati and Pierre Etex in the films The Inspirator (1962), Yo-Yo (1965). For about twenty years, until the death of the great filmmaker Luis Bunuel, he was his partner and scriptwriter of the master's films.
He also worked as a playwright, his plays were staged by famous theater directors Jean-Louis Barrot, Peter Brook.
Jean-Claude Carrier is a regular screenwriter for filmmaker Milos Forman. For the script of the film "The Return of Martin Guerra" (1982) was awarded "Cesar".
As a screenwriter, he worked with such outstanding filmmakers as Volker Schlondorf, Nagisi Oshima, Andrzej Wajda, Carlos Saura, Jean-Luc Godard, Louis Malle, Marco Ferreri.
