Born July 3, 1957 in the Italian city of Milan. His film career began with acting. His first film, in which he starred, was the movie Big Battle, released in 1977. The third film in which he starred is noteworthy: Alien 2: On Earth. Michele starred in it under the pseudonym Michael Shaw. His sixth role was in Lucio Fulci's film City of the Living Dead. This film allowed Michele Soavi for the first time to come into contact with the cinematic horror film genre. Michele also starred (albeit in rather minor roles) in the films of the famous director Joe D'Amato, including Caligula: An Unconfessed Story.
In 1982, Michele Soavi first got acquainted with the work of the director. He participated, as a second assistant to Dario Argento, in the filming of the film Shiver. In 1983, Soavi wrote the screenplay for Ator the Invisible, directed by Joe D'Amato. In the same year, Michele Soavi starred as Tommy in the Lamberto Bava film Blade in the Night. In 1985, Soavi starred in The Phenomenon (as a police officer) and Demons (as Jerry and the ticket salesman). The same year was marked by Soavi's first independent directorial experience - he shot the television film Valley, as well as the documentary film The World of Horror by Dario Argento, directed and written by Soavi.
Michele Soavi's first non-television film was Stage Fear, which was filmed by Imperial Entertainment. In 1989, the film Cathedral was released, originally directed by Lamberto Bava, but later refused. In 1991, the film Sect was released, which tells about a certain satanic sect and the deeds of its members. In 1994, the film Death Love was released, it is considered the best film of the director. After filming this film, Michele Soavi leaves the cinema. However, in 2000 and 2001, he was featured on several Italian television films.
