Jean-Pierre Leo - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
His first role, which immediately brought him fame, Leo received from Francois Truffaut in 1959 in the film "Four hundred strokes". In the years that followed, he worked more with the young directors of the French New Wave, but primarily with Jean-Luc Godard and Truffaut. In several films Truffaut played the role of Antoine Doinel (the character is an alter ego of Truffaut himself). One of the high points of his career was the role of Mark in Jerzy Skolimowski's 1967 Belgian film "Start" ("Le depart"). In 1966, Leo received the Berlin Film Festival prize for Best Actor in Male-Female.
