Thomas Payne was born on December 21, 1982 in the English city of Chelmsford, Essex. In his hometown, he studied at a school with a theatrical bias, after which he moved to London and entered the Central School of Oratory and Acting, which he successfully graduated in 2005.
Almost immediately after graduation, Tom starts acting for television. From 2007 to 2008, Tom is busy filming the series Waterloo Street, which tells about the problems of the modern school, students and teachers. Despite the fact that by the time of filming "Waterloo Streets" Tom was already 24 years old, he was able to convincingly play a 17-year-old schoolboy.
Tom made his film debut in 2008 in the romantic comedy Miss Pettigrew, starring Frances McDormand and Amy Adams.
In 2009, Tom managed to easily fall in love with all British housewives and achieve his first popularity, appearing on TV screens in the next film adaptation of Emilia Bronte's novel "Wuthering Heights", although he played only a minor role in it.
Payne continues to successfully act in television projects: in 2009 he appears in the detective series "Miss Marple Agatha Christie", from 2011 to 2012 he plays in the series about the shadow side of the world of horse racing and equestrian sports "Fart", directed by Michael Mann with Dustin Hoffman starring.
In 2013, Tom Payne manages to get the main role in a big movie, in the high-budget adaptation of the bestselling historical adventure drama of the same name, The Doctor, Avicenna's Disciple. Tom plays a young hero who longs to become a disciple of the great healer from Persia, Avicenna, in order to unravel his secret of curing terrible ailments. Payne stars Ben Kingsley and Stellan Skarsgard in the film. The film was released in many countries around the world, and to date it is Payne's largest project.
