Patrice Lecomte - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
Born November 12, 1947.
At an early age, Patrice Lecomte decided to become a director. Graduated from the Graduate School of Film Education (IDHEC) in 1969. Although he always dreamed of leading the creative process, for the next six years he wrote scripts for Pilote magazine. In 1976, after a series of successful short films (Le laboratoire de l'angoisse), his debut film The Toilet was locked from the inside (Les Veces etaient fermes de l'interieur). The film stars Coluche and Jean Rochefort. Success comes after the film Tanned (Les Bronzes, 1978). The popularity of the film pushed the director in 1979 to shoot a sequel - Tanned on skis (Les Bronzes font du ski). In exactly the same genre, Patrice Lecomte shoots the following three films: Come in - I live with a friend (Viens chez moi, j'habite chez une copine), My wife's name is Come back (Ma femme s'appelle reviens) and Come in, there is nothing to see here (Circulez y'a rien a voir). After a series of successful comedies, the director decided to change his genre preferences and put an action movie with a slight comedic bias - Specialists (Les Specialistes, 1985). Thanks to a warm welcome from the audience, Lecomte again turns to a new genre for himself - in 1987, Tandem is released. In 1989, Patrice Lecomte, at the suggestion of the French producer Philippe Carcassonne, shoots the film Monsieur Hire, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Georges Simenon, in which he turns deeper and deeper into the study of the undercurrents of human destinies and actions. The film receives the prestigious Delluca Prize and is nominated for a Cesar. Then Lecomte puts on a kind of trilogy about the eternal duel of men and women, the search for ideal love - The Barber's Husband (Le Mari De La Coiffeuse, 1991), Tango (Tango, 1993), Yvonne's Aroma (Le Parfum d'Yvonne, 1994). However, these films did not gain such popularity as the historical canvas Ridicule, which was also awarded with Cesar awards for film and direction and was nominated for an Oscar, which was released in 1996. In 1998, the action movie Une chance sur deux appeared with Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo. In the main female role Vanessa Paradis, as in the black and white melodrama of 1999, Girl on the Bridge (La Fille sur le pont). The theme of the Girl on the Bridge was continued in the 2001 film Felix et Lola, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Philippe Torreton. And in 2006, Patrice Lecomte directed the third part of his first successful film - Tanned (Tanned 3 / Les Bronzes 3: amis pour la vie).
