American actor, 2000 Emmy Award winner for his role as Toby Ziegler in The West Wing.
In 1973, Schiff entered New York City College, dropped out after his freshman year. In the early 1980s, he began working in New York theaters, first as a director, then became an actor. In 1988, Schiff moved to Los Angeles and became a member of the theatrical troupe Actors Gang, founded by Tim Robbins.
