Born June 5, 1957 in Tashkent to the family of a military man. After graduation, he studied at the Tashkent State University at the Faculty of Philology and at the same time worked at the Uzbekfilm film studio as an illuminator.
In 1986 he graduated from the scriptwriting faculty of VGIK (workshop of V. Chernykh).
In 1983, at the Moscow Festival of Youth Films, a film based on his script "A Staircase in a House with an Elevator" (directed by Aman Kamchibekov) received the main prize of the festival for the best script for a short film.
Co-author of the script for the film "A Very Faithful Wife" (directed by V. Pendrakovsky).
Since October 1990 - director of the Uzbekfilm film studio.
Director and screenwriter of the first Uzbek TV series "Domla" (1994), "Order" (1997),
Honored Art Worker of Uzbekistan (2001).
