As a comedian, he has appeared in several TV series, regularly appeared in feature films, Broadway productions and voiced cartoons.

He was fond of cooking, became a chef, hosted a talk show and published several books on cooking.

His sons followed in their father's footsteps: Peter DeLuise (director and actor), David DeLuise and Michael DeLuise (both actors).
