Born on August 1, 1932 in the village. Madeniet of Chubartau district, Semipalatinsk region (now East Kazakhstan region)
Graduated from the Alma-Ata Conservatory in 1957. Composer, teacher. Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR (1967). People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR (1975). People's Artist of the USSR (1981) .
For 27 years he was the permanent chairman of the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan, the secretary of the Union of Composers of the USSR. He passed away on April 9, 2013.
