Julian Dana William McMahon, (born July 27, 1968), is a Golden Globe nominated Australian actor, best known for his portrayal of philandering plastic surgeon Christian Troy on the TV show Nip / Tuck. Despite being Australian, he claims in an interview that he has already lost his Australian accent as he interacted a lot with Americans. His appearance on television, in advertising for jeans, made him quite popular in his homeland. So much so that he landed a role in Dynasty Australia, a series in which he played a wealthy heir. After working on this series for 18 months, he moved on to Home and Away, another successful series, for which he won the National Magazine's Best Actor Award. In the same series, his future wife, Danny Minogue, starred. Julian later played on stage, appeared in the musical version of Home and Away in England, and also played in Love Letters in Sydney and Melbourne. Then he starred in the film Exchange Lifeguards, after which he came to Los Angeles to try his luck in American projects. In 1992, he was cast as Ian Ryan on the NBS daytime drama series Underworld. Two years later, he left the series to appear in various performances in Los Angeles. He also starred in Women in Control and Magenta before landing a role in Profiler. In 2000, Aaron Spelling invites him to the television series Charmed. The contract was signed for only one third season, but his character Cole Turner liked the viewer so much that it was decided to extend the contract for another two full seasons: the fourth and fifth, but McMahon did not catch up until the end of the fifth season. The reason for the early departure from "Charmed" was not disclosed.
