After that, John managed to get into the New York productions of 'The Sound of Music', 'Paint Your Wagon' and 'The Visit'. During the first two seasons, he played an important role in the plot ^; in the future he was only mentioned, and then it became known about his adventures on the side and the character was taken out of the show completely. John was no less successful in his role in the cult comedy series 'Seinfeld' ^; however, he was later replaced by Jerry Stiller. In 1995, the scenes with Randolph were re-filmed - all with the same Stiller ^; however, the original version can still be found outside the US and on DVD.

Between 1942 and 1986, John was married to American actress Sarah Cummings ^; Sarah's death broke such a long and happy marriage.
