Graduated from UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television in the 1960s, and became an instructor at one school.
He began his film career in the television series Walt Disney, and then was drafted into the US Army, where he shot army training films.
Returning to California after service, he worked on commercials for television shows.
Bohrum has worked on major feature films by Francis Ford Coppola.
Bohrum was nominated for an American Society of Cinematographers Award as well as an Academy Award.
