Tate Donovan has appeared in over eighty television series and films throughout his career. Due to his boyish appearance, in the late eighties and early nineties, he played teenage roles in such films as Picnic in Space (1986), Clean and Sober (1988) and Memphis Beauty (1990). His first major role on the big screen was in the romantic comedy Love Potion No. 9 (1992). He also appeared in Equinox, Monkey Zetterland's Notes, Holy Ties of Marriage, Thin Pink Line, Swordfish Password, Good Night and Good Luck, Nancy Drew and Operation "Argo" ".
