Charlie Hunnam is an English actor who has gained recognition for his work in films such as Hooligans, Child of Man, Cold Mountain.
Charles Matthew Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980 in Newcastle, the son of a gangster and non-ferrous metal reseller William and small business owner Jane Hunnam. Charlie has English, Irish and Scottish roots. Hunnam's maternal grandmother was a renowned portrait painter. Charlie has an older brother, William, in addition, later he had two brothers from his mother's second marriage - Oliver and Christian. His parents separated when Hunnam was two years old, his mother took the children to the village of Melmerby, and when he was twelve, Charlie's mother remarried. Hunnam met actress Catherine Towne in 1999 while auditioning for the TV series Dawson's Creek. After four weeks of dating, they were married in Las Vegas, but the couple announced their separation in 2002. Charlie is currently in a romantic relationship with jewelry designer Morgana McNelis.
