The eldest of three children, Frank Anthony Grillo grew up in upstate New York. While still in high school and participating in many school productions, he got his first experience of acting. Also, Frank was a gifted athlete and his dream was to play sports professionally. After school, Frank goes to New York University and graduates with a business degree. The future actor spent one year on Wall Street before he accidentally met a casting director who brought him to work in the commercial department of Miller beer. After beer commercials, Frank Grillo also starred in commercials for American Express, ads for macaroni, cheese and deodorant.
He began his acting career with filming in TV series ("Guiding Light", "Silk Nets", "CSI Crime Scene"). Popularity for Frank came after his role in the adventure series "Escape". In big cinema, Frank Grillo is known for the films Pride and Glory, Mother's Day, and Fight .
Frank lives in Los Angeles and New York. He is married to actress Wendy Moniz and has three sons, one of whom is from his first marriage.
