Colin Hanks was born in November 1977 into the family of the famous actor Tom Hanks. Colin is the eldest of all Hanks children, he has a sister Elizabeth and half-brothers Chester and Truman.
Colin followed in his parents' footsteps and decided to study acting at the University of California. While studying, he was often invited to play leading roles in student films, and his experience on stage helped him get roles in more serious theatrical performances: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Noise Behind the Stage.
