Born July 6, 1931 - American actress and singer. She began her career in the early 1950s performing gospel, pop and jazz songs and achieved great success in 1959 with the release of her hit "Don't You Know?" In the 1960s, she hosted her own talk show, Della, and is also remembered on television for her role as Tess in Touched by an Angel. She is also currently a New Thinking Church preacher in Los Angeles.
