Scott Cohen was born on December 19, 1961 in New York City. Scott's father, Jack, was a jazz musician, and his mother, Leatrice, was a teacher. In addition to Scott, the Coen family had four more children. As a child, Scott wanted to become a musician, however, he decided to choose an acting profession.
In 1989, Scott married screenwriter and former model Anastasia Train. In 1995 they had a son. In 1990, Cohen made his film debut, playing a cameo role in the psychological thriller directed by Adrian Lyne, Jacob's Ladder. In 2010, he starred in one episode of the television series Hawaii 5-0.
