Robert Wool - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, actor, screenwriter, director, producer.

This curly-haired comedian and satirical writer does a great job of portraying pesky smart guys and slovenly helpless nerds. He was in the comedy group Bob, Larry and the Frog until his long-awaited ramification into a solo career took place. Not the last figure in stand-up comedy, Wool defined his style as optimistic-anarchic and began writing materials for comedian Rodney Dangerfield.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1979, Robert made his debut as an actor in the youth comedy 'Hollywood Knights' a year later. His improvisation got into the musical melodrama Flash Dance of 1983, but for many years Wool turned into a writer, including in charge of the script for the series Police Squad with Leslie Nielsen. Reborn as a comedian, Robert gained attention, and in 1986 wrote, directed and starred in the parody project 'The Big Bang'.

A breakthrough in his acting career overtook Wool in 1987 in the film Good Morning Vietnam opposite Robin Williams, cementing the role of insolent, unattractive, but very funny, chewing tobacco, Larry Hockett in the comedy Darkham Bulls in 1988. In 1989's Batman, Robert is easily recognizable as the curious reporter Alexander, and in 1992's The Mistress, he plays an exhausted writer named Marvin. Also among the works with the participation of Robert - the television erotic thriller 'A Kiss Goodnight' and the unremarkable horror comedy 'Doctor Jekyll and Miss Hyde'. Claiming to be a master of auteur cinema, Wool wrote, directed and starred in the obscure comedy Opening of the Season, an old-fashioned wild romantic movie.

In 1985, Robert Wool starred in Madonna's video for the then popular song 'Material Girl'.
