Scott Caan was born in Los Angeles into a family of actors. His mother, Sheila Ryan, was a model and actress, and his father was the famous film actor James Caan. His paternal grandparents were Jewish immigrants from Germany. Scott's parents divorced a year after he was born, and he has four siblings from other father's marriages.
Kaan is a fan of the rap groups Cypress Hill and House of Pain. Prior to enrolling in acting school in Los Angeles, he was a member of the hip-hop group The Whooliganz. He began his acting career in 1995. He played his first big roles in the films Black and White and Ready for Battle. Mostly Scott Caan became famous for his role as Turk Malloye in the films "Ocean's 11", "Ocean's 12" and "Ocean's 13". He also starred on television, in 19 episodes of the series "Handsome".
