American actor with Asian roots Kenneth Leung was born in New York on January 21, 1970. Kenneth grew up near the so-called Two Bridges area on the Lower East Side. Leung spent most of his childhood in Midwood (Brooklyn), where he lived until secondary education, his school was in Old Bridge. The future actor was enrolled in the prestigious New York University, where he studied on a scholarship, enthusiastically studying acting with the equally famous Catherine Russell and Nan Smitner. After some time, Leung worked at HB Studio with actress Anne Jackson.
In 1988, Leung starred in a candid play by James Less and God, directed by Terrence McNally, and the same year a film with Ken Leung, Corpus Christi, was released. In early 1997, Ken Leung received an invitation from director Brett Ratner to take part in the filming of Rush Hour. After that, the actor starred in the debut film of the newcomer director Edward Norton, namely in the film Keeping the Faith. Four times Ken was partnered on the set by Ratner and twice by Spike Lee. In 2002, the actor played the role of Ching in his debut Broadway musical, it was for this role that Kenneth was nominated for the prestigious Tony Award.
