Linda Blair is an American actress best known for her work in The Exorcist and on the TV series Supernatural, Married with Children.
Linda Denise Blair was born on January 22, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of James and Elionor Blair, an employee of a recruiting agency and real estate agent. Linda also has a brother Jimmy and a sister, Debbie. Blair began her career at the age of six as a model; by the age of twelve, she appeared in seventy-five commercials and in hundreds of fashion catalogs.
In 1973, Linda was selected from over six hundred applicants for the role of the possessed girl Regan in William Friedkin's horror film The Exorcist. The work earned her the Golden Globe, Audience Award for Best Supporting Actress, and an Academy Award nomination. After the premiere of the tape, many of the creators and actors involved in it began to receive threats from religious fanatics. For the next six months, Linda was under 24-hour security, but when the threats persisted, her parents decided to hide the girl in another state with their friends.
