Vladimir Dashkevich, born on January 20, 1934, is a famous Soviet and Russian composer who wrote music for one hundred and thirty films. The birthplace of the future genius was Moscow, which opened many ways and roads for its residents. Vladimir loved music since childhood, however, under the influence of his mother, he decided to get a more practical profession. So, he enrolled in the Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology, where after graduation he received a diploma in chemical engineer. However, the talent and craving for art did not leave the boy all this time, and he, nevertheless, succumbed to his vocation. Having found a good job in his own specialty, Vladimir attended composers' courses, studying with Philip Gershkovich and Nikolai Karetnikov.
Soon he even decided to get a second higher education, only this time - a musical one. The Musical Pedagogical Institute named after the Gnessins gladly accepted him into the ranks of its students, in the class of Aram Khachaturian. After this day, Vladimir began a period of active composing activity. At first, surrendering to inspiration, he simply wrote music, but soon films with Vladimir Dashkevich began to appear. He and his works are becoming so in demand and popular that Dashkevich no longer knew rest, and this was the sweetest thing for his Russian hard-working soul. Vladimir wrote music for a series of films about Sherlock Holmes, as well as for the film Heart of a Dog, which also greatly influenced his career and brought almost world fame.
The post of head of the Moscow Composers' Union in 1991-1993 became a sign of the highest importance for him.
The last film with Vladimir Dashkevich, entitled Ordered to Forget, was released in 2014. Dashkevich, at the age of eighty-one, continues to work actively and give his talent to other people.
