Juan Moreno y Herrera Jimenez, better known all over the world as the legendary French actor Jean Reno, was born on July 30, 1948 in Casablanca, Morocco. Juan's parents were Spanish, who fled from the dictatorial regime to another country. Only when the boy was 12 years old and it became safer in Europe after the terrible Second World War, the Moreno family decided to move to France. In a foreign country, no one expected refugees with open arms, the family had an extremely difficult time. Only in 1970, after a hard service in the French army, then Juan Moreno was finally able to get rid of his refugee status and obtain the well-deserved French citizenship. At the same time, the guy begins to passionately get involved in the theater. He takes acting lessons, attends various master classes and gets his first roles in the theater. Since 1974, the first films with Jean Reno begin to appear. The film debut of the future legend of world cinema was not very successful. The roles were boring and the films didn't pay off. Failures pursued the actor for many more years, until in 1983 Jean meets the young 26-year-old director Luc Besson. Luc was so inspired by Jean's charisma, his penetrating eyes, courageous character, but, at the same time, the fine mental organization of the young actor. This is how the director presented his main characters. Since that time, the films of the Besson-Renault tandem have come out one by one: Subway, Blue Abyss, Nikita and, finally, Leon. It was the main role of Leon the killer in the film of the same name that made the actor a legend of world cinema, a real favorite of viewers and directors. Dozens of successful images followed Leon, but it was the roles of Jean Reno in Besson's films that were most vividly remembered by fans of the actor's work.
