Born July 6, 1937, Louisville, Kentucky, USA - American theater and film actor.
As a child, he earned money performing with a vocal quartet in churches and hairdressers. The debut on the theater stage took place at the age of nineteen. He attended college at Transylvanian University, but did not graduate. In the mid-1960s, he became an actor at the Louisville Theater, then worked in theaters in Washington and Houston.
Beatty's first feature film was released in 1972 in the thriller Deliverance, in which Beatty starred opposite Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds. Beatty's most notable film work: Nashville, The Network, Superman, The Great High, Rudy. In the first three seasons of the series, "Slaughter Department" played detective Stanley Bolander, the most experienced and oldest employee of the department. In 2001, he returned to the theater scene, continuing to act in films.
Beatty was married four times and has eight children from different marriages (six sons and two daughters).
