Born on February 17, 1988, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, Odessa region, USSR (Ukraine) - Ukrainian professional boxer.
He started boxing in childhood. The first fight in the amateur ring was held in 1994 at the age of 6 at the international tournament "Hope". He won the fight, but a draw was officially counted, so as not to upset the older opponent. Then there were many championships of the city, region and country, in all of which Lomachenko came out the winner.
The first major achievement in the amateur ring - at the age of 16 he won the national championship. In the same year he took gold at the European Championship among cadets (under 16 years old) in the weight category up to 46 kg. He also received the cup there as the best boxer in the European championship.
In 2005 he won the championship of Ukraine among adults in the weight category of 53 kg.
