Garik Korogodsky grew up in a simple Jewish family. My father worked in construction (went from an electrician to a site manager), my mother was an accountant. From the first grade, Garik regularly worked part-time: he played cards, resold scarce goods (chewing gum, jeans).
In 1975 he graduated from school and entered the Kiev Electromechanical College of Railway Transport named after Nikolai Ostrovsky, where he received the specialty of an electrical technician. In 1985 he defended his diploma in the electrification of railway transport at the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers.
Garik's first legal job was at the age of 13, when he got a job as a bakery watchman. Then her working career continued at the Moscow Animal Theater as an electrician.
In Moscow, Korogodsky, in addition to legal part-time work (for example, in the bus depot), was engaged in then still prohibited activities: he speculated on theater tickets, resold caviar, coffee. In 1995 he moved to Kiev and started selling computer equipment from Singapore. Then he and his partners organized the delivery of petroleum products in Ukraine, founding Alfa-Nafta, a representative office of the Russian company Alfa Group, with which they worked for 2 years.
Then Garik, together with his partner Alexander Melamud, traded oil and built a vertically integrated structure for the ARCh group (purchased seven regional oil products from 300 filling stations). Later, businessmen worked with the Privat group, buying out shares in oil refineries for it.
Garik left the oil business and took up real estate development in Kiev.
The first project is a fitness center "Aquarium", which was opened in 2000.
In 2013, Garik Korogodsky, together with Tina Mikhailovskaya, founded the Zhivolyubov charity foundation.
