Born January 17, 1987, Simferopol, USSR (Ukraine) - Ukrainian professional boxer and actor.
Until 1999, he lived in his mother's homeland in the village of Rybotin, Chernihiv region.
He graduated from Simferopol school number 34, where he studied with his future wife Ekaterina. As a child, he studied folk dances, judo and football. He played for the youth team of Tavria as a left midfielder. Usyk entered the boxing section at the age of 15. He worked under the guidance of coach Sergei Lapin together with his son, Sergei Lapin Jr., as well as Usik, who later won the title of champion of Ukraine in boxing.
Graduated from Lviv State University of Physical Culture.
Alexander Usik is the absolute world champion in the first heavy weight, the only holder of champion belts in all prestigious versions among professional boxers of our time.
In the final of the WBSS tournament, he defeated the Russian boxer Murat Gassiev and became the absolute champion, winning the IBF world champion titles (2018-2019) and WBA super (2018-2019), combining them with the previously won WBO super championship belts ( 2016—2019) and WBC (2018—2019). In addition, he became the owner of the Mohammed Ali Cup for the best cruiser in the world and the title of champion according to the authoritative boxing publication The Ring (2018 - present).
