Born September 27, 1947, Perthshire, Scotland, UK - Scottish film and television actor, director and screenwriter.
Lawson started thinking about his acting career as a teenager. At the age of 11, he first tried to enter the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, but was unable to pass the entrance exams. In order not to waste time, the boy became a student at the Royal Scottish Academy.
In 1969 Lawson became an actor in one of London's theaters. He soon began acting in performances based on the classic plays of William Shakespeare.
Denis is the uncle of the famous British actor and director Ewan McGregor. It is noteworthy that both actors starred in the George Lucas saga "Star Wars" - one in the "classic" and one in the "new" trilogy.
Lawson made his screen debut in The Play of the Day and The Royal Court, but real fame came to the actor in 1977 after the release of the famous science fiction film Star Wars: Episode 4 - A New Hope, in which he played the pilot Wedge Antilles ... Subsequently, the actor starred in 2 more films of the saga.
