Faye Bainter - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Actress.
December 7, 1893 - April 16, 1968 - Oscar-winning American actress .
Her film debut took place in 1934 and in the same year she appeared in theaters on Broadway.
Bainter quickly achieved success and in 1938 became the first actress to be nominated for an Oscar in two categories at once, as Best Actress in White Flag and Best Supporting Actress in Jezebel, for which she received Film Academy Award.
In 1961, Bainter starred in Children's Hour opposite Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine, which was her final film career. The role of Mrs. Amelia Tifford again brought her an Oscar nomination, but the actress did not receive an award. For her contribution to the development of the film industry, Faye Bainter became the owner of a personalized star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard.
Faye Bainter passed away on April 16, 1968 - she died of pneumonia at the age of 74. Since her husband, Reginald Vanable, was a military officer, she was buried next to him in Arlington National Cemetery.
