Born December 4, 1951 - American television director and producer. Attias' career spanned three decades and during that time he directed many popular television programs, including Miami Police and Beverly Hills 90210. He is a frequent contributor to HBO series and has directed episodes of The Sopranos, The Wire, The Client Is Always Dead, True Blood, Handsome and Deadwood. Attias received two Emmy nominations for directing the TV series Handsome .
He was a regular director of the spy drama The Spy. He also directed two episodes of Lost .
In 2001, his son David Attias killed four people with a truck on Vista Island. A civil case was sent to Dan and his wife, Diana, for recklessly allowing David to drive their 1991 Saab 9000.
