Martina McCachon - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, actress.
Born May 14, 1976, Hackney, London, better known as Martine McCutcheon is an English actress, singer, television personality and radio host. McCachon wanted to be an artist from a very young age, but her family could not afford to pay tuition at the Italia Conti Academy of Theater Artsruen, where she entered. McCutcheon wrote more than two hundred letters to various authorities asking for financial support, and, as a result, she received sponsorship from the Reeves Foundation ruen Church of England to continue her studies. At the age of twelve, McCutcheon landed her first role in an American television commercial for which she was paid ? 350. This was followed by modeling work and cameo roles on television shows such as the ITV police drama A Murder in England. She also appeared in the music video for the song "Caribbean Blueruen" by Irish singer Enya. At the age of fifteen, with two classmates, Martina organized a girl group Milan, which turned out to be creatively quite successful (but not so much, according to Martina), she hit the dance chart three times and even signed a record contract. However, the prospect of performing only in run-of-the-mill clubs was not the ultimate dream for McCutchon, and she left the project. In 1994, while working as a saleswoman for Knickerboxruen, a lingerie store, McCutchen was offered the role of Tiffany Raymond in the hit BBC soap opera East End. In the course of work on the project, the role of Tiffany in the plot was given more and more place, and the popularity of the actress grew. 22 million viewers watched her last scenes on the television series, when Tiffany was murdered in Albert Square in a special on New Years Eve in 1998. In fact, McCutchen made the decision to leave the soap opera to focus on her solo career, but regretted never being able to return to the show. McCutchen's first chart appearance came in 1995 with the dance song "Are You Man Enough", which was produced by Uno Clio. A promotional video was also released. In 1999, McCutchen made her debut as a solo pop singer under the auspices of Virgin Records and became # 1 on the UK Singles Chart with the ballad "Perfect Momentruen" (originally recorded by Edita Gurnjak in 1997). In the same year, she had two more Top 10 hits; she came in 6th with two singles, "I've Got You", and later with "Talking in Your Sleepruen", which was paired with "Love Meruen" on the "A" side. All three McCutchen singles were taken from her debut album You Me & Usruen, which peaked at # 2 on the UK Album Chart and went platinum. In 2000, McCutchen released her second album, Wishingruen, which was less successful and peaked at No. 25 on the UK Albums Chart. Nevertheless, two songs from it - the hit "I'm Over You", took the second place in the charts, and the cover of the song "On the Radioruen" by Donna Summer became a hit. Despite not being the best on the chart, it still managed to sell about 250,000 copies, making the album gold. McCutchen's third studio album Musicalityruen, with a Broadway cover, was released in 2002. It peaked at number 55 on the album charts, but sold poorly, which ended her pop career and her recording contract was canceled. In September 2012, The Collectionruen was released on two CDs, consisting of McCutchen's best songs. McCutchen appeared in ITV's Knockruen, as well as the 2000 British film Smack Smack Bang Bang. She went on to play Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady at the Royal National Theater in London. Although she has missed many performances, citing health problems, and leaving almost five months early since the show at Drury Lane, she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical 2002.
In 2002, McCutchen hosted the ITV1 National Music Awards, and in 2003 she performed her first major film role. She appeared as Natalie, the tea-bringing girl, in Richard Curtis's romantic comedy Love Actually, in which the British Prime Minister (played by Hugh Grant) falls in love with McCutchen's character. The film received good reviews and was a commercial success. McCutchen left for the United States in the wake of the film's success, but her Hollywood career was not destined to come true. She nonetheless won the MTV Movie Awards in 2004.
In September 2005, she appeared in two episodes of the BBC series Ghosts, playing Tash, a waitress who witnesses a terrorist attack. McCutchen starred in the English television movie "English Harem" aired on ITV1 in December 2005; she played a woman who fell in love with a Muslim (Art Malik) and married him, knowing that he already had two wives. In 2007, McCutchen's name appeared in the credits as a performer of roles in two films - the short film with Patrick Swayze and the movie "Leapruen". She also starred in one of the episodes of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, where she appeared as a maid named Jane Cooper who assists Miss Marple in her investigation. In January 2008, she co-starred with actor Jason Donovan in the ITV soap opera Beach of Memoriesruen as Susan Penwoden.
