Born January 12, 1960 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Father - Nicholas Platt - diplomat, mother - Sheila Maynard - social worker. Oliver has two brothers: the older one is Adam Platt and the younger one is Nicholas Platt Jr. Oliver spent his childhood in Washington (USA), Asia and the Middle East. Graduated from Rocky Montain High School in Carbondale, Colorado. Graduated from Tufts University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Since 1987 he began acting in films.
