Born March 29, 1964 in the small town of Cronulla in New South Wales, Australia.
She is also well known for her record six appearance on the cover of a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. In addition, she created a line of lingerie under her own name - "Elle Macpherson Intimates" .
She owned the Fashion Cafe restaurant chain with Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Claudia Schiffer. Founded in New York in 1995 by Italian entrepreneur Tamasso Buti, husband of top model Daniela Pestova, Fashion Cafe went bankrupt and closed in 1998.
