November 6, 1899 - May 25, 2000 - American actor.
Born into a Jewish family, near Prague, at the time, in Austria-Hungary. He made his debut in the theater, in the 20s he began acting in films. In the early 1930s, Lederer was forced to leave for the United States. The most famous roles of the actor in the films "Pandora's Box" (1929) by Georg Wilhelm Pabst, starring Louise Brooks and "Confessions of a Nazi Spy" (1939). Francis Lederer continued to work until his death, at the age of 100, at the American National Academy of Performing Arts he founded in Los Angeles. His interview was included in the series of the documentary program "100 Years of Horror".
