Born December 24, 1948, Annaba, Algeria is an Italian actress and film producer.

Her father was a Maltese and her mother was born in Sicily. When Edwige was ten years old, the family moved to France. At 15, Edvige won the Miss Cote d'Azur beauty pageant. In 1965, sixteen-year-old Edwige Sfenek received the title "Lady France" (Lady France). After that, her short career as a model began. Having come to show business, the girl changed her surname, removing the letter "C" - now she was just "Fenech". The bright beauty could not fail to be noticed by the film agents, and at nineteen Edwige had already made her debut on the screen. After her film debut, Fenech continued to work as a model for some time and even participated in the Lady Europe competition, in which, however, she did not take prizes. In addition, Fenech starred nude for Playman magazine.

Edwige Fenech's first film was the 1967 comedy All His Folly, directed by Norbert Carbono, who, amazed at its beauty, offered to play a small role in his film. The plot was primitive and narrated about a kind of sexual stimulant vitamin that literally drove the brothel workers crazy. Although Fenech starred in just one scene, the gorgeous brunette was hard to miss and remember. After Fenech entered the Lady Europa beauty pageant, she was noticed by an Italian agent and invited to Rome to star in the 1968 film Samoa - Queen of the Jungle, directed by Guido Malatesta.

For three years she starred in thirteen films of different genres, often with elements of eroticism. Noteworthy is the 1969 adaptation of Flaubert's Madame Bovary, directed by Hans Scott-Schobinger, where Fenech played the main character. The film was a kind of historical and erotic costume drama and became quite famous and profitable.

In the 70s Edvige started working with director Sergio Martino. Their first collaboration was the 1971 film Mistress Ward's Strange Vice.

By the mid-70s, Edwige Fenech was already considered the queen of erotic Italian comedies, which were successfully performed in Italy, Spain, West Germany and France.

In the 80's Edwige Fenech starred mainly in comedies and crime films.

In the 90s Edwige finally switched to television. She starred in serials and even became a producer - she founded the production film company Immagine E Cinema SRL with her son. Listed as a producer of more than twenty serials on Italian television.

In 2004, she produced The Merchant of Venice directed by Michael Redford.

Edwige Fenech is the star of Italian sex-exploitation and giallo films.
