Born 23 August 1961, Paris, France - French film composer.
Already at the age of five, the talented boy learned to play the piano, and after a while he mastered the trumpet and flute. From early childhood, music became an integral part of Alexander's life, so he did not doubt his choice of a profession. Studying in France, and then in the United States, positively influenced his musical tastes. The young virtuoso was interested in everything, from classical to contemporary jazz and rock and roll, he tried not to lose sight of any event in the world of music, constantly improving his own style and manner of performance.
Alexandre Deplat's debut as a film composer took place in 1985, when he was offered to work on the music for the French film Ki lo sa? Having made his successful debut, Deplat continued to write music for films in France. Soon he was noticed and invited to Hollywood.
Depla's is not limited to composing instrumental compositions for cinema. He also writes songs, music for theater performances. He wrote for films with Catherine Ringer, Charlotte Gainsbourg, John Hurt, Kate Beckinsale, Valerie Lemercier, Michael Lonsdale.
His finest symphonies can be heard by the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, the Munich Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing and writing, Depla is also involved in teaching. At one time, he gave master classes at the University of Paris and at the Royal College of Music in London. On May 19, 2012, Deplat held his last master-class on the theme "The Personal History of Film Music" at the 65th Cannes Film Festival.
