Born March 6, 1948 - American actress.
She began her career as a television producer in the late 1960s. After fifteen years in theater, she made her debut in the soap opera Guiding Light in 1979, after which she appeared in Times Square (1980), The Fan (1981), Class (1983) and Lights St. Elmo (1985) .
Although Horsford has played about a hundred roles, she is best known for the television sitcom Amen (NBC, 1986-1991) and The Wayans Brothers (The WB, 1995-1999). In addition, Horsford has appeared in several short-lived sitcoms, and has also been a guest on LA Law, Amy Fair, Grey's Anatomy, Detective Rush, and New Girl, and from 2005 to 2008 had a minor role in "Shield". On the big screen, she is best known for her role as mother in the comedies Friday (1995) and Friday After Next (2002). In 2013, she played a central role in the comedy "Madea's Christmas".
