Born November 16, 1958, Fremont, Nebraska, USA - American actress.

began her career in the seventies on radio in Kearney, Nebraska. In 1981, she landed a role in the daytime soap Ryan, where she starred for the next several years. She left the soap opera in 1986 to pursue a prime-time career and began appearing in episodes of various TV series, and in 1987 starred in the short-lived CBS sitcom.

In 1988, Helgenberger got the role of prostitute and feminist KS Kolowski in the TV series China Beach opposite Dana Delaney. In 1990, she won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama Series for her role. In 1989, she made her big screen debut in After Midnight, and then played in Steven Spielberg's Always. After the completion of China Beach in 1991, Helgenberger's career was not very successful and she starred in mostly low-budget and made-for-television films. In the mid-nineties, after a successful role in the 1994 film Cowboys It Is Like This, she had moderate success with her supporting roles in Bad Boys, The Species, Fire From Hell and Erin Brockovich. She also had a minor role as George Clooney's girlfriend on the 1996 television series Ambulance.

In 2000, Marg Helgenberger got her most significant role in her career - the criminalist Catherine Willows in the television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Initially launched without much hope of success, the series rose to the second line of the most popular programs of the year by the second season, and took first place in the third season. For her role, Helgenberger was twice nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, as well as a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series - Drama and became one of the highest paid actresses on television. She left the show in early 2012, after twelve seasons.

On January 23, 2012 Marg Helgenberger received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
