Born July 23, 1962, Hartford, Connecticut, USA - American actor, director, producer and screenwriter.
He studied at the Juilliard School for two years, then moved to NYU School of the Arts in 1984, but never received his degree. After he left his studies, La Salle participated in productions of the Shakespeare in the Park theater company. He soon landed roles on Broadway, Off Broadway and the television soap opera One Life to Live.
In 1988, La Salle co-starred with Eddie Murphy in A Trip to America.
In 1994, he began acting in the medical drama television series Ambulance as Dr. Peter Benton. La Salle has been on the show for 8 seasons. In 2009, he returned to the series for the final two episodes of the final season 15, and also directed one of the episodes. He starred in 171 episodes in total. After Ambulance, he had several small roles in films and TV shows. He dabbled in directing, making several films and, in particular, a couple of episodes of the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
