Born December 9, 1961, Prairie View, Illinois is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter.
He graduated from high school in Lincolnshire, near his hometown.
Started his career as a cook in a Hollywood restaurant, and in his free time he took acting lessons. He performed his first episodic role in the fourth part of the acclaimed Star Wars project - The Road Home in 1986. Lando then appeared as Jake Harrison in the melodrama One Life to Live, and his participation in this television project allowed him to easily pass the casting for the lead role in the serial film Doctor Quinn: The Doctor Woman.
The actor portrayed a warlike and courageous inhabitant of a provincial town in the Wild West and fell in love with all the fans of the series. Joe Lando signed a five-year contract, and during this time he gained incredible popularity, along with his colleague on the set Jane Seymour.
