February 13, 1872, Cork - January 4, 1943 - American actress of the silent film era. She is best known for her role as Mrs. Kelly in the comedy series Coens & Kelly, which aired between 1926 and 1932. Price appeared in 296 films between 1910 and 1937. She was born in Cork, Ireland. Her brother was actor Jack Duffy. She began her career in vaudeville with her husband, Joseph Price, in 1890. She began acting in films in 1902 at Vitagraph Studios in New York. Has played with such movie stars as Flora Finch, Douglas Fairbanks, John Bunny, Buster Keaton and Mary Pickford. She co-starred with Oliver Hardy for 14 films, filmed at the Vim Comedy Company in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1917, Kate went to Hollywood. She had roles in The Sea Tiger (1927), The Atheist (1929), and Before a Month (1930). Her last role was in the MGM film Sorry (1934) .
Price died at the age of 70 in a nursing home in Woodland Hills. The funeral service was held in the Church of St. Teresa, buried in the Calvary Cemetery.
