American actor, screenwriter, director and television producer.
He graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1982 with a BA in English. In 1990, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a master's degree.
In 2008, Gould joined the writing staff for the first season of Breaking Bad as story editor. He wrote the script for an episode of the first season, "Adult Business." The screenwriter for Season 1 was nominated for Best New Series in a ceremony in February 2009 by the Writers Guild of the United States (WGA).
Gould was promoted to executive story editor for the second season. He wrote the scripts for episodes of the second season, "Dead Bee Sting" and "Better Call Saul." The screenplay was nominated for the WGA Best Drama Series at a ceremony in February 2010 for their work on the second season. Gould was promoted to producer for the third season and wrote the screenplay for The Nameless Horse episode, and co-wrote the episode Kafkaesque with partner producer George Mastras. Gould was promoted again to Supervisor Producer for the fourth season in 2011.
Along with Gilligan, he is currently co-showrunner and co-writer of the spin-off series, Better Call Saul. The show debuted on February 8, 2015, and is the highest rated premiere of a cable TV series to date.
The episode "Uno" from the first season of "Better Call Saul" won the US Writers Guild Award for Best Screenplay in a Drama Series in February 2016. The episode was written by Gould and Gilligan.
