Born May 30, 1955, Enniscorthy is an Irish writer, journalist, and literary critic. Writes in English.
Studied at St Peter's College in Wexford. He worked as a bartender in Tramore. Graduated from University College Dublin (1975). He lived in Barcelona, ??in 1978 he returned to Ireland. He worked as a journalist for Magill magazine, in 1982-1985 he was its editor-in-chief. Taught at US universities, currently professor at Columbia University and Manchester University. Member of the Irish Art Association "Aosdana".
